Ever since the iPod was unveiled the demand for a trendy music player is constantly on the rise. The iPod saved Apple from their struggles with monetary funds, and these days it is quite trendy for everyone to have one.
Microsoft however, is following a similar pattern and is stepping up their game when it comes to consumer electronics.

Evanston aldermen unanimously voted to amend the city's 27-year-old handgun ban last week at a special closed-door meeting in light of a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck down a similar ban in the District of Columbia.
The Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, ruled that laws requiring handguns in homes to be disassembled and outfitted with trigger locks are incompatible with the gun rights accorded under the U.

In considering the city council's recent decision to drop the city-wide handgun ban, the word that first comes to mind is astute. Astute, of course, in both the political and financial sense. The city is able to save money on a lawsuit it almost certainly would have lost, and the decision will also placate gun owners in the area and those around the nation who are watching to see how these early test cases pan out.

After four years at Northwestern, economics Prof. Lillian Kamal will be leaving to pursue what she said is "a tenure-track position at a university in the Northeast."
Kamal began teaching at NU in Fall 2004, right after completing graduate school.
"Northwestern is a fantastic school," she said.

Last Spring, the shrill ring of side door alarms echoed through Northwestern's campus. Even louder were the complaints lodged by the students setting off these alarms. Unfair and unwanted security measures had been instituted by the University administration.

One of the more frustrating things about being a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago is the lack of community at our school. We all have friends on campus and at home that we can enjoy life with, but if we are honest with ourselves we will acknowledge that it is difficult to meet people at this university because a wide majority of students treat it as if it were a giant community college.
